Frank Sciame established F. J. Sciame Construction Co., Inc. (Sciame) in 1975. In the years since, he has led the firm to its current position as one of the tri-state's leading construction management firms with current projects underway valued at about $500 million.

With a degree in Architecture from CCNY, Mr. Sciame has been referred to as a builder with the vision of an architect and the eye of a constructor. His talent, combined with that of his long-time Senior Executives, has positioned the firm to be entrusted with some of the metropolitan area’s most notable projects.

Sciame’s completed projects include The Morgan Library and Museum; Pratt Institute School of Architecture; the restoration of Historic Front Street; Central Synagogue Restoration; Harvard Club of New York City; the South Court Addition to New York Public Library’s Main Branch; Seamen’s Church Institute and the Bear Stearns Specialty Floors at 383 Madison Avenue.

The firm’s current projects include the New Museum of Art; the Museum of Art and Design; the exterior restoration and MEP upgrade of the Guggenheim Museum; the new laboratory building at Cooper Union; the Parrish Art Museum; the complete renovation of 130 East 59^th Street at Lexington Avenue, and New York University’s School of Philosophy.

In 1996, Mr. Sciame formed Sciame Development, Inc. The real estate development firm is currently engaged in the revitalization of Historic Front Street, a mixed-use project in the South Street Seaport Historic District being financed through Liberty Bonds. The project features the restoration of eleven early 19th century warehouses into 100 residential apartments and boutique retail shop fronts. The firm has also purchased 80 South Street and secured City Planning Commission approval for a proposed 177,000 sq. ft., mixed-use, tower also in Lower Manhattan.

Frank Sciame received the Ernst & Young NYC Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Construction Category in 1996, and, in 1997 the Construction Management Association of America named his firm Construction Manager of the Year.

For his dedication to preserving the City's treasures, Mr. Sciame received the 1997 Chairman's Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy and a 2003 “Pillar of New York” award from the Preservation League of New York State. Mr. Sciame, a former Public Director for the Board of the New York City Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was made an Honorary Member of the New York City and State Chapters in 2004. Most recently he served as Chairman of the New York Building Congress, and currently serves on the Boards of the City College Fund, the Actor’s Center, the South Street Seaport Museum, and serves as the Chairman for the New York Landmarks Conservancy. He also serves as Chairman of the Seaport North Community Business Association, which he helped organize to represent property and business owners in the Seaport Historic District. At The City College of New York, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association and is Past-President.

Mr. Sciame holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from City College of New York and received an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts in 2004.
